Public Meetings Announcement: Update on Black Bear Research

Black Bear Resarch Presentation and Discussion
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and Jared Laufenberg, PhD candidate at the University of Tennessee (UT) will hold the following public meetings Aug 12-14, 2014 to provide an update on black bear research.
Jared Laufenberg will give a presentation of his project entitled “Population dynamics and genetic structure of the Louisiana black bears in the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley of Louisiana.”
A question and answer session will follow the presentation and allow for general discussion about Louisiana black bears.  For more information, contact Maria Davidson at 337-948-0255 or

Aug. 13 at 6 p.m.      Concordia Community Center        26356 Hwy 15, Ferriday
Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.      Tallulah Community Center            800 Beech St, Tallulah
