Look for LWF at National Hunting and Fishing Day on Sep 26; Refuge Celebrations on Oct 17. Volunteer!

We'll be in Woodworth, Minden and Baton Rouge on Saturday, September 26 at National Hunting and Fishing Day. It's hosted by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and features events in Baton Rouge, Woodworth, Monroe and Minden. Attendees have the chance to try their skills at the shooting ranges, fishing ponds and boating activities, as well as learn about wildlife with live animals.Lots of prizes and games for kids and good food, too. Look for us on Saturday, October 17. We'll be National Wildlife Refuge Week celebrations at Red River NWR, Black Bayou NWR and "Wild Things" at the Bayou Lacombe Centre. These free events feature exciting speakers, live animals, wildlife-related crafts, tours, nature games for kids, plenty of great food. It's a fun day for young and old to enjoy nature! 

Interested in Volunteering with LWF at upcoming outdoor educational events in Baton Rouge or Lacombe?

As a volunteer, you'll talk to visitors about the mission of LWF, ask them to sign up in support of coastal restoration and for the La Camo Coalition, with a chance to win a free kayak. We will also distribute LWF's kids booklet "First Time Fishing in the Atchafalaya Basin".
